Are you a San Diego native? It seems like all the images you post are taken from the same spot in Point Loma... Which is not too far from my local watering hole, Sunshine on Newport! Which reminds me that happy hour is in 2 hours and 10 minutes!

Yup! Well, technically no but I've lived here since 1984 so ... native enough!
And, yes, all these images are taken from my deck. We just moved to La Playa two weeks ago and I'm still all agog over the bitchin hardware that floats by. I decided to start this series to document what I see. My ultimate goal is to capture every Navy ship that homeports here either coming or going.

Good stuff, keep em' coming (And great view by the way). I hope you're not getting too much noise from KSAN.

Actually, not much at all. The noise from SAN is very distant. My other house, the one I actually own and just moved from, is in Loma Portal so we got take-off noise there. Here all we really hear are the helicopters across the way on North Island.

Awesome, congratulations on your new place... Only downside is that Stone Brewery is no longer within walking distance :-)

I KNOW! Walking distance to Stone is one of the greatest things about my house. It was shocking how much interest my one little rental ad on Zillow conjured. To a one, they all asked, "How close is it to Liberty Station?" When I said it's walkable they all wanted to see the house immediately. There is very little for rent in my 'hood and everyone wants to live there now. I rented it to a Navy family who wanted it sight unseen and were willing to send a non-refundable deposit. I couldn't do that to them, so I told them they had my word they had the right of first refusal so they could see it first a week later.

Good on you for supporting our military personnel! I'm in Mission Valley myself due to a dislike to marine layer and a 5 minute drive to Montgomery Field (I fly).
If you ever want to go up and get some aerial shots of the Navy vessels and your house, let me know.

If I ever ... ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?! How about right now? Or 5 minutes ago? Or any fucking time at all, will one of those work for you? I'm not terribly picky ...

I'm doing my biannual flight review next week, so maybe next weekend... Send me a text on 619-606-6718 so we're connected outside Oppo.
Gotta go, it's happy hour!
